Waterford Entries Strong at the 2014 Gold Cup Regional

Once known as the Gold Cup National Morgan Show, this long running event is held in Columbus, Ohio and features a tricolor in every class and beautiful gold cups to the winners. Waterford’s entries grabbed for the gold from start to finish, making our trip to the midwest worthwhile!

Steven Handy piloted his handsome Bellerophon (HVK Bell Flaire x Carmen Sandiego) to a win in Amateur Pleasure Driving, coming out with a strong third place ribbon in the championship behind two top world titled horses.  Picking up the speed in the Roadster to Bike was Dragonsmeade Oberon (And The Beat Goes On x Dragonsmeade Valkyrie) with Lynn Peeples, who went Reserve in the open class for Paul Callandra. Have a need for speed? Call Lynn about this fun gelding as he is available!

Lynn also had the privilege of driving Moe Tall (Man in Motion x Illustra Aurora) to the Reserve Championship in Open Park Harness after a strong reserve in his qualifier. The entry of Erdenheim Farm LLC, Moe is marching onward and getting better with every show.

Robin and Neil Herrick’s Cherrydale Manor has bred their share of World Champions, and several up and coming Cherrydale entries made victory passes at the Gold Cup this week. Cherrydale Ariella (Minion Millennium x Cherrydale Gabriella) and Kathy were the Junior Horse Hunter Pleasure Reserve Champions after a reserve in their qualifier. The stunning Cherrydale Michaelangelo (The Master’s Touch x Cherrydale Gabriella) made his debut with Kathy in the Three Year Old Western Pleasure and came out with a win. He is for sale if you’re looking for a serious OKC competitor in this division.

Kathy was also aboard Doug & Marlene Sluiter’s Hole Shot (Bellerophon x Fair Catch) when he made his saddle debut in Three Year Old English Pleasure, resulting in a reserve.

Ledyard Farm’s beautiful young dame, LPS Endless Love (Man In Motion x Illicit Love) was the UPHA Park Harness Classic Reserve Champion with Lynn on the lines.

On to the Penn-Ohio Morgan Show, a little closer to home and so much fun!
