Waterford Shines at 2013 New England Regional

Class after class, the Waterford horses and riders/drivers proved that they had done their homework and were up for the challenge of one of the biggest Morgan Horse shows in the country. We couldn’t be more proud of their results and we’re looking forward to taking many of these great teams on to the Grand National in October.

  • Patrick’s Girl and Kathleen repeated their victory from Gold Cup by winning the UPHA Hunter Pleasure Classic here at NEMHS, then finished their week with a tricolor from the Hunter Pleasure 3 Yr Old division for Doug & Marlene Sluiter.
  • Ledyards Lucky Lucas (Astronomicallee x Graywoods Epona) made his 2013 debut at NEMHS with Lynn on the lead and came away with Reserve Grand Champion Stallion, Junior Champion Stallion and the blue ribbon in Two Year Old Colts for breeder/owner William Haines of Ledyard Farm.
  • Gradell Angel of Peace and Ashley Young won the Classic Pleasure Saddle Mares class for Drs. Shirley & Jerome Modell. This lovely mare is available for purchase, please visit our Sales Page for more information.
  • LPS Endless Love was the Junior Champion Mare and winner of the Two Year Old Fillies In Hand with Lynn, her breeder and owner.
  • Lynn and LPS Out of Bounds were all about the show when they won the Open Park Saddle qualifier and then came back to take the East Coast Invitation Park Saddle Championship for Bill Haines of Ledyard Farm.
  • Man In Black made his first appearance of 2013 with Lynn in the saddle and came away with the blue ribbon in the Open English Pleasure. This exciting young stallion is also owned by Bill Haines of Ledyard Farm.
  • Nancy Flower and Portfolio, a two year old daughter of Town Assets, could not be denied the Two Year Old Pleasure Driving division at NEMHS, winning the qualifier and the championship in beautiful style for owner/breeder Lynn Peeples.
  • Still In Town proved he still had it when he secured his second Junior Champion Gelding title of the year, hot on the heels of his win at Penn-Ohio just two weeks earlier.

2013 Penn-Ohio Show Proves Challenging for Exhibitors

With an encore of very wet weather, the 2013 Penn-Ohio Morgan Show provided a challenging venue for horses and exhibitors. The Waterford horses were game and put on their best show in spite of the mud and wet and came away with some outstanding results. It was a super way to prepare for New England Regional’s potential surprises!

  • ADC Pega Sass and Kathleen were the Junior Horse Western Pleasure Champions after winning their Junior Mares qualifier. This elegant young daughter of Bellerophon was bred and is owned by the Cojocar family and is available for purchase.
  • Cherrydale Ariella won her Three Year Old Mares In Hand and then marched right on up to Grand Champion Mare. By Minion Millennium and out of Cherrydale Gabriella, she is bred and owned by Dr. Robin Molaskey Herrick and is a full sister to World Champion Cherrydale Casseopia.
  • Dragonsmeade Oberon and Lynn won the Roadster to Bike class for Paul Calandra, who looks forward to driving this fun new gelding.
  • EKL Utopia and Cathy Miller won their Junior Horse Classic Pleasure Driving class and then took on all ages to win the Open Classic Pleasure Driving Championship.
  • The hot new Park Saddle horse Harlan’s Azurean braved the mud to win the Limit class and went on to claim Reserve in the Park Saddle Championship. This sporty guy is available for purchase, visit our Sales Page for more information.
  • Ledyards Donatella made her saddle debut with Kathleen in the irons and won the Junior Mares qualifier and bested the boys for the Junior English Pleasure Championship. This elegant daughter of WC Mizrahi is available for purchase, please visit our Sales Page.
  • Grand Champion Stallion honors went to Ledyards Eduardo, who just kept on coming from the Three Year Old class right on up to the top.
  • LPS Endless Love was the Junior Champion Mare and winner of the Two Year Old Fillies In Hand.
  • Lynn had a great ride to win the Park Saddle Mares & Geldings class with LPS Out of Bounds, who is primed for a New England appearance.
  • The Man In Motion son Moe Tall enjoyed his second show of the year at Penn-Ohio and came away with the Open Park Harness Championship after winning the Park Harness Junior Horse qualifier.
  • A fresh new face on the scene, Nittanys Boogie Time seemed to enjoy his debut as he smartly won the Two Year Old Park Harness class with Lynn on the lines. This fancy harness entry is available for purchase, contact Lynn or Kathy for more information.
  • RGR Moonshadow and Cynthia Brown Clark were right on the money to win the Amateur Hunter Pleasure Championship and the Hunter Pleasure Amateur Stallion/Gelding qualifier.
  • SSL Reba’s So Emotional made a winning debut in the Limit English Pleasure class and went right on through to capture the Open English Pleasure Championship with Lynn on board.
  • The fancy young son of Town Assets, Still In Town, proved he was just as pretty as his sire by winning Reserve Grand Champion Gelding honors after topping the Geldings Two & Under class.
  • Robert Severino enjoyed winning the Amateur Pleasure Driving Stallions & Geldings behind Without Limits, a versatile gelding who is looking for a new owner. Read all about him on our Sales Page.
  • Nancy Flower trains and shows the Peeples bred entry Portfolio, a two year old daughter of Town Assets. This very special filly made her debut here to a blue ribbon drive in the Two Year Old Pleasure Driving class.

Patrick’s Girl Tops UPHA Hunter Classic at Gold Cup

Making her debut in a new performance division, Patrick’s Girl (Town Assets x Gossip Girl, by Serenity Masterpiece) topped a competitive class of UPHA Hunter Pleasure 3 Yr Olds at the recent Gold Cup Regional in Columbus, Ohio. Kathleen Peeples rode the many-time champion to this good win and they are setting their sights on Oklahoma in this tough division. Congratulations to owners Doug and Marlene Sluiter!

Southern States Regional Success Stories

The  Southern States Regional Morgan Show is a great kickoff show for Waterford every May. This year was no exception, as we enjoyed blue ribbons and tricolors from the youngsters just getting their feet wet, as well as from the experienced.

  • Gradell Angel of Peace and Kathleen won the English Pleasure Mares and were reserve in English Pleasure Limit Horse
  • Cynthia Brown Clark enjoyed showing RGR Moonshadow to the Championship ribbon in Hunter Pleasure Amateur Jackpot, after two solid reserved in Hunter Pleasure Amateur Stallion/Geldings and Hunter Pleasure Ladies Amateur
  • Holly Seavitt’s dependable beauty HL My My won the Ladies Western Pleasure Championship after topping the competitive Ladies qualifier with Kathleen aboard.
  • The striking son of Man In Motion, Moe Tall, is back for his final junior performance year and came away from Southern States with a win in the qualifier as well as the Junior Park Harness Championship
  • EKL Utopia, owned by Cathy Miller, won two blue ribbons in Classic Pleasure Driving Limit Horse and Classic Pleasure Driving Junior Horse with Cathy on the lines.
  • Lynn and Dragonsmeade Oberon were reserve in both Roadster to Bike qualifier and championship classes for owner Paul Calandra

Children’s Benefit Horse Show Debuts to Blue

A wonderful show held in Logan Township, New Jersey, we enjoyed taking our Morgans to show in front of a varied crowd that included owners of American Saddlebreds, Ponies as well as Morgans.

  • Cynthia Brown Clark and RGR Moonshadow won the Amateur Hunter Pleasure Championship after making a victory pass in their qualifier.
  • Cathy Miller and EKL Utopia had two great drives, winning both the Pleasure Driving Junior/Limit Horse Championship and the Pleasure Driving Junior/Limit Horse qualifier.
  • Lauren Cocojar piloted AMHF Illusion of Grandeur to the tricolor in the Park Saddle Championship, after a win in the Amateur Park Saddle qualifier.
  • Kathleen and EKL May Acclaim were on top in the English Pleasure Championship and the Open English Pleasure.
  • LPS Beaudacious and Kathleen were reserve in the English Pleasure Junior/Limit Horse Championship after winning the Junior/Limit qualifier.
  • Bob Severino had a great drive to win the Open Pleasure Driving Championship behind Without Limits, after a win in the Amateur qualifier.
  • Kathleen and ADC Pega Sass were victorious in the Open Western Pleasure Championship after a win the the Ladies Western Pleasure qualifier.
