Our 2015 foals are arriving!

April 21st, 2015 • NewsComments Off on Our 2015 foals are arriving!

Our 2015 foals have arrived and it looks like it will be a banner year here at Waterford. We just love our bay filly by World Champion SpiceOLife Present Tense and out of Fair Catch, who arrived on January 25th in the very chilly early morning hours!

Then the first of our boys arrived on March 22, 2015, an adorable bay colt by The Ignitor (HVK Bell Flaire x Noble Finale) and out of Town Sweetheart, a full sister to World Champion Man In Motion.

Three days later on March 25th, we welcomed a bay colt by Town Assets and out of Sarde’s Town Flirt (Man About Town LPS x Stonecroft Shalimar). He is big and long-legged like his mama!

On April 8th, World Champion Man In Motion added another bay colt to his list of progeny, this one is out of MEM Uptown Girl. Very sweet and handsome, he has a big star and a large disconnected snip on his nose.

And we are over the moon about our beautiful black colt by Man In Black, out of Furious Love (Nonesuch Fire N Fury x Ain’t Love Grand), who arrived just a few days later.

Here’s to you New York

September 16th, 2014 • NewsComments Off on Here’s to you New York

There’s nothing better to launch yourselves toward the Grand National that to have a spectacular show at the New York Regional in September. It’s simply a grand way to put that last bit of confidence in your team and work out any last wrinkles in your performance before heading west.

Highlighting our incredible NY Regional was Ledyard Oakley (Man In Motion x Wild Imaginings), William Haines’ stunning weanling who topped the NY SSA Sweepstakes Weanling Championship, bringing home a hefty check and a load of roses and silver for her very proud breeder/owner. Lynn really enjoys leading the babies and this filly is so very special. Her win marked a third consecutive win for Lynn in this class. Lynn also lead his own exceptional weanling, Unique (Roberto Cavalli x Honeytree’s Simply Unique) to third, as well as Titan (Town Assets x MEM Uptown Girl) to sixth place in a large, competitive group of beautiful weanlings.

Earning their way through the NY Morgan Futurity for William Haines’ Ledyard Farm were three wonderful young horses, Ledyard Maximilian (Town Assets x Mendon Belle Amie) as the winner of the Futurity Two Year Old Colts and ultimately the NY Futurity Two Year Old Championship with Lynn on the lead. His beautiful stablemate Ledyard’s Immortal Asset (Town Assets x CBMF Immortal Belle) was a star all week, kicking it off as the winner of the Yearling Fillies, then the NY Futurity Yearling Fillies and capping it off as the NY Futurity Yearling Champion. Ledyard’s Barolo (AFF Leroy Brown x Wintop’s Princes Vanity) was also victorious as the winner of the Yearling Colt class, Reserve Junior Champion Stallion and then bringing home the prize money as the NY Futurity Yearling Colt Reserve Champion to Ledyard’s Immortal Asset.

Our other in hand winners in Syracuse included ADC Man On Fire (Man In Motion x Alphastar Exotic Assets), shown by Christopher Bernard and Lynn to Grand Champion Gelding, Junior Champion Gelding, a win in Two Year Old Geldings as well as Reserve Champion NY Futurity Two Year Old and Reserve in the NY Futurity Two Year Old Colts. World Champion Ledyard’s Lucky Lucas (Astronomicallee x Graywood’s Epona) continued his winning ways as the Grand Champion Stallion, Senior Champion Stallion, and was winner of the Three Year Old Stallions. Proving he’s not just beautiful, but talented as well, this versatile young stallion was also ridden to the NY Futurity Three Year Old Park Saddle Championship by Kathleen.

Winning the Park Saddle Junior Horse was LPS Endless Love (Man In Motion x Illicit Love), another outstanding entry of Ledyard Farms. Lynn piloted this World Champion to her win and will be leading and riding her in OKC next month.

Robert Severino and EKL May Acclaim enjoyed two winning drives in Pleasure Driving Amateur and Pleasure Driving Limit Horse. This team has improved with every show and we are thrilled with their progress. May Acclaim is available for purchase, please visit our Sales Page to find out more about this nice young show horse. Also enjoying a blue ribbon drive was Cathy Miller and EKL Utopia (Man In Motion x MJL Electra), winners of the Classic Pleasure Driving Ladies, reserve in the Open and finishing up with a strong third in the championship.

Erdenheim Farm continues to enjoy a winning season with their stylish stallion Moe Tall (Man In Motion x Illustra Aurora), who made a clean sweep of the Open Park Harness division with Lynn on the lines.

HL My My (HyLee The Rage x Hip Heath Teardrop) and Kathleen have had a winning partnership for more than a decade for Holly Seavitt, and this dark and lovely mare enjoyed a win in the Western Pleasure Mares here before jogging down victory lane in the Ladies Western Pleasure Championship.

The outstanding young harness mare Portfolio (Town Assets x CHMH Grand Gift of Honey) continues to chalk up points for her sire with every appearance. Lynn drove her to reserve in Three Year Old Pleasure Driving.

Lynn had his turn and now Kathleen is enjoying showing the handsome black stallion Man In Black (Town Assets x Town Sweetheart) for William Haines’ Ledyard Farm in the English Pleasure Stallions & Geldings, where their effort resulted in a blue at Syracuse. Kathy was also in the saddle for a Reserve Championship ride in the NYSMHS SSA Park/English/Classic Sweepstakes with SSL Ultimate Design (Bellerophon x Honeytree No Illusion), who was the 2010 NY Sweepstakes Weanling Champion earlier in her career. She brought home the bacon again with Armada Captain Morgan (Treble’s Tanqueray GCH x MEM Playmate) as the NYSMHS SSA Hunter/Western Pleasure Sweepstakes Champion.

LPS Beaudacious (Bellerophon x Illicit Love) and Kathleen enjoyed one ride, but it was a good one as they won the Western Pleasure Novice horse for Cindy Fawcett.

It’s been great having Lauren Cojocar back in the saddle this season, and Lauren enjoyed two nice rides on her beautiful mare AMHF Illusion of Grandeur (HVK Bell Flaire x Delusions of Grandeur). She was reserve in both the English Pleasure Amateur and Amateur Ladies qualifiers and did not show back.

Our thanks to the show management and their hard working crew for putting on a great horse show, it was a show to remember for all of us and we can’t wait to get to OKC!

Making History at the 2014 New England Regional

July 31st, 2014 • NewsComments Off on Making History at the 2014 New England Regional

Waterford Farm and clients always enjoy the New England Regional, but this year’s historic 75th Anniversary show made every win just that more memorable.

Kicking off a tricolor week was Lynn on the lead of World Champion Ledyard’s Lucky Lucas (Astronomicallee x Graywood’s Epona) as the Reserve Grand Champion Stallion for Ledyard Farm. Lynn was right back in the ring for the Mares with LPS Endless Love (Man In Motion x Illicit Love), who captured the judges’ eye in Three Year Old Mares. This beautiful bay also trotted off with a red ribbon in Park Saddle Three Year Olds with Lynn in the irons, bested only by stablemate Nittany’s Boogie Time (Rowenda Boogie On Down x KJM Heartbreaker) with Kathleen up for Michael Lee Fisher, who went on to win the Junior Park Saddle Championship. This consistent performance winner is available for purchase! Kathleen also enjoyed a solid ride with Holeshot (Bellerophon x Fair Catch), Dick and Marlene Sluiter’s young gun who tied reserve in English Pleasure Three Year Olds.

Another great young Ledyard produced horse, Ledyard Maximilian (Town Assets x Mendon Belle Amie), marched to reserve in the Two Year Old Stallions In Hand with Lynn on the lead. Then Ledyard Rare Asset and Lynn topped the Two Year Old Geldings In Hand for William Haines, going  on to win the Junior Champion Gelding honors. Adding to the Ledyard tricolor week in harness with Nancy Flower, this sporty son of Town Assets and the HVK Bell Flaire daughter Rare Piece went second in the Two Yr Old Pleasure Driving qualifier before putting it all on the line to become the Two Year Old Pleasure Driving Champion.

Steven Handy took time out from his busy promotion of the AMHA Young Adult Alliance to drive his World Champion Bellerophon (HVK Bell Flaire x Carmen Sandiego) at Northhampton. This handsome duo won the Pleasure Driving Gentlemen, then turned in a beautiful drive in the Pleasure Driving Amateur Championship to earn a very respectable third place.

Ashley Young and Gradell Angel of Peace (Centerpiece x Gradells Seventh Angel) are a beautiful pair and they captured the eyes of the judging panel with their perfect go in the Classic Pleasure Saddle Ladies Mares.

Speedy Dragonsmeade Oberon (And The Beat Goes On x Dragonsmeade Valkyrie) and Lynn drove to the East Coast Roadster to Bike Reserve Championship after claiming reserve in their qualifier. If you have the need for speed, visit our Sales Page to read more about this outstanding gelding!

Robin & Neil Herrick’s Cherrydale Ariella (Minion Millennium x Cherrydale Gabriella) had an outstanding show with Kathleen up, taking the Reserve title in the Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse Championship from a large field of quality horses.

The 2014 New England Regional came to a close and we are excited about taking our biggest string of the year to the New York Regional in Syracuse next month!

June 10th, 2014 • NewsComments Off on 2014 Connecticut Morgan Show Shines

The Connecticut Morgan Horse Show at the historic Springfield, Massachusetts Big E facility is one of our favorite shows and our first June event. With just four horses in our string, we enjoyed a fabulous show and we were especially thrilled to have our own Lauren Cojocar back in the irons in the Amateur and Ladies English Pleasure division! Lauren and AMHF Illusion of Grandeur (HVK Bell Flaire x Delusions of Grandeur) won their Amateur Ladies qualifier in fine style, then carried their good luck and skill through to sop the Amateur English Pleasure Championship.

Robert Severino is enjoying the season behind EKL May Acclaim (Town Assets x Illustra Aurora), owned by Eli & Rebecca Lapp. Robert and this fancy young gelding were second in Pleasure Driving Limit Rider, then chalked up two strong third place ribbons in Amateur Pleasure Driving qualifier and Championship. This is Acclaim’s first season out of the junior horse division, where he had several impressive wins under saddle. Making his saddle debut at this show and doing it right was Michael Lee Fisher’s Nittany’s Boogie Time (Rowenda Boogie On Down x KJM Heartbreaker), a 2011 gelding with a bright future in the park division. He swept the Junior Park Saddle division at this show and we’re looking forward to his New England debut in July. Like his looks? Call us, he’s for sale!

The 2014 Southern States Regional Morgan Horse Show is behind us now, but the southern hospitality and great rides and drives were a tremendous kick off to what we hope will be a fabulous show season.

Starting the show off with a bang was the beautiful LPS Endless Love (Man In Motion x Illicit Love), owned by William Haines’ Ledyard Farm and presented by Lynn Peeples. After winning the Three Year Old Mares In Hand, this lovely young mare went on to be crowned Reserve Senior Champion Mare and finally Reserve Grand Champion Mare.

The boys were not to be outdone, as Ledyard’s Maximilian (Town Assets x Mendon Belle Amie), another Ledyard Farm entry, made his show ring debut memorable by bringing home the Junior Champion Stallion honors after securing a win in Two Year Old Colts. Full brother and stablemate Ledyard’s Eduardo topped the Three and Four Year Old Geldings in Hand on his way to Reserve Grand Champion Gelding honors.

Jogging into the spotlight for Holly Seavitt was the beautiful black HL My My (HyLee The Rage x Hip Heath Teardrop), who won both the Ladies Western Pleasure and Western Pleasure Mares qualifiers on her way to a victory pass as the Ladies Western Pleasure Champion with Kathy Peeples in the saddle.

Last year’s People’s Choice Two Year Old Pleasure Driving Horse of the Year, this year’s Southern States UPHA Three Year Old Pleasure Driving Classic Champion! Portfolio (Town Assets x CHMH Grand Gift of Honey) continues to rack up wins for Ledyard Farms, this year with Lynn on the lines. This full sister to Tony Lee’s spectacular World Champion CHMH Spice Town Girl just gets better every year.

Ledyard Farms and Bill Haines enjoyed watching another top young homebred in the spotlight as last year’s World Champion Junior Stallion, Ledyard’s Lucky Lucas (Astronomicallee x Graywoods Epona) made his saddle debut with Kathleen aboard to win the Three Year Old English Pleasure class.
